The environmental complaint submission pipeline extends the functionality of FracTracker’s mobile app, which allows registered users to document potentially harmful encroachment of wells, pipelines, trains, refineries, landfills, mines, pits, and compressors within their local communities.
The environmental complaint submission pipeline extends the functionality of FracTracker’s mobile app, which allows registered users to document potentially harmful encroachment of wells, pipelines, trains, refineries, landfills, mines, pits, and compressors within their local communities. Upon documenting a harm, users in 17 states are now given the option to submit their complaint directly to the appropriate state and/or county agencies based on the complaint type and geographic location. If they elect to forward their complaint, the pipeline receives their request and then fills out and submits the agency webform on their behalf. FracTracker expects the pipeline to lower the barrier for reporting complaints and direct more government attention to the negative effects of fossil fuel infrastructure.
