University of Chicago Software Engineering Group
The University of Chicago Software Engineering Group (UCSEG) facilitates connections among staff, faculty, and postdocs who spend a significant amount of time programming, whether for research, IT administration, consulting, product development, or something else. It runs monthly meetups, cross-team collaboration such as code reviews and planning, and a central web presence. Members span the Data Science Institute, Research Computing Center (RCC), Globus Labs, the University of Chicago Library, Data for the Common Good, and more.
UCSEG convenes a hybrid meeting on the second Wednesday of every month at 12pm in John Crerar Library (JCL) Room 151. Topics include lightning talks showcasing members’ work, exchanging knowledge and best practices, and soliciting opportunities for cross-team code reviews. The group welcomes feedback on which topics and collaborative projects would be most valuable to members.
To join, fill out the sign-up survey. One of the group leaders will follow up to say hello and share more information.
