DeBIT

DeBIT (Development Bank Investment Tracker) is an open source database of development project loans collected from 17 multilateral development banks and sovereign wealth funds. It promotes corporate accountability by allowing local communities harmed by development projects to search for the banks funding those projects and then target them in their campaigns for reform.

Many of these banks have Independent Accountability Mechanisms (IAMs) and large, public brands, making them excellent “pressure points” for advocates seeking project divestment, increased oversight, or compensation for past wrongs.

Partners

Inclusive Development International (IDI) partners with advocacy organizations around the world to defend local communities’ land, natural resources and human rights against threats from harmful investment projects.
